Elisabeth Silberhorn

After returning from Hamburg, I started at Längst Lab in Regensburg in 2006.

Over the past 18 years, I have built up extensive expertise in a variety of methods and relevant subject areas. I have worked on several projects through the development and implementation of various tools and methods.

This has led to a particular interest in the in vitro characterization of histones in Plasmodium falciparum, ranging from the study of remodeling machinery in malaria to ATPases of various pathogens.

Our goal is to understand the mechanisms of these processes and to demonstrate them in stable assays. Furthermore, I aim to establish such assays for subsequent drug screening.

I am also responsible for many structural issues in the lab and serve as a central point of contact for almost all practical needs in various areas.

The only thing I can't do yet is magic. ✨
