Fabian Kugler

I am PhD student with a passion for unraveling the complexities of gene regulation and bridging computational biology with experimental approaches. My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, followed by a Master’s in Biology, setting the foundation for my current research focus.

My expertise lies at the intersection of bioinformatics and experimental science. I specialize in machine learning, neural networks, and bioinformatics tools, complemented by hands-on experience in cell culture, nanopore sequencing, and biophysical techniques. This unique combination allows me to explore innovative solutions to complex biological challenges.

My doctoral research centers on triple helices and their potential as novel RNA-based gene therapy agents. Specifically, I am developing machine learning tools to predict and design oligonucleotides that could serve as therapeutic drugs. By integrating computational predictions with experimental validation, this work aims to pave the way for transformative advancements in RNA-based treatments, potentially revolutionizing approaches to gene therapy.

Through this work, I hope to contribute to cutting-edge discoveries that merge the power of data science with molecular biology, driving forward innovation in therapeutic development.
