I am a PhD student with a passion for everything related to DNA – from genetics and the associated cellular mechanisms to the diseases that arise from genomic variants. Recently, this fascination has led me into the field of DNA triple helices. 

I began my academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences at Reutlingen University, followed by a Master's degree in Molecular Medicine at FAU Erlangen–Nürnberg. Both times, I completed my thesis in the field of human genetics. Throughout my academic training, I gained extensive laboratory experience in molecular biology, genetics, and cell culture techniques.

Now, still unable to escape DNA, I continue to pursue my fascination with molecular biology as a PhD student investigating RNA in the form of RNA-DNA triplexes as transient therapeutic molecules that enable not only the repression but also the activation of gene expression. My research aims to reprogram the epigenetic regulatory network with triple helices.
